Results Matter
While every case is different and past results are not a guarantee of future success, the attorneys at Schern Richardson have an impressive record of delivering results for clients. Some of their notable recent results include:
2011
- Successfully defended claims for defective construction, fraud, and negligence brought by a property owner against a builder. The owner’s claims exceeded $500,000 and included punitive damages. Our attorneys convinced the court to dismiss the case in its entirety, and obtained judgment against the owner for attorney’s fees.
- Obtained the dismissal of all of a Plaintiff's claim against our clients for defective construction.
- Won a unanimous jury verdict in a dispute between members of a limited liability company. The verdict included punitive damages.
2010
- Obtained a $1.1M judgement, including over $600,000 in punitive damages, in a case arising out of a fraud and defective construction.
- Defeated claims asserted by national banks and established the validity of our client's Superintendent of Streets Deeds on properties worth over $500,000.
- Obtained a complete victory for a client embroiled in a partnership dispute over dissolution of a business, and obtained judgement in favor of the client for over $100,000.
2009
- We prevailed before the Arizona Court of Appeals on behalf of a client embroiled in a contract dispute.
- Successfully sued property owners who wrongfully withheld almost $100,000 from their builder.
- Succeeded in revoking the contracting license of a criminal contractor who aided and abetted an unlicensed contractor.
- Obtained a complete dismissal in a criminal prosecution of a contractor client who was wrongfully accused of aiding and abetting. When the Registrar of Contractors refused to cease its investigations even after the dismissal, we brought suit against the Registrar, and the Firm successfully negotiated an agreement protecting the contractor from further unwarranted investigations and prosecutions.
- Successfully represented a Habitat for Humanity volunteer who suffered catastrophic injuries due to inadequate security at a national motel chain. Our attorneys successfully resolved that case while litigating against one of the world's largest hospitality companies and teams of attorneys from two national law firms.
